Cartographers Residence - Interior Entrance Hallway

I created this piece as part of a personal project in order to gain a better understanding of how a concept develops through a studio workflow. I set out to design an entrance to a 19th century upper-class house in London.

I began with a basic block mesh that I created in Modo and then took this into Photoshop and drew over it to flesh out the design. Once the design was set I then planned the lighting and composed a shot for a production painting.

Composing the shot and the lighting. The idea was for it to be a glary London day with direct ambient light.
